Community Outreach

This section will highlight Park County Search & Rescue’s efforts to reach out to the community to better educate the public as to the unit’s mission, training and procedures.  In this way, the community can better understand the unit’s capabilities.  The volunteers will also be participating in philanthropic programs periodically in order to give back to the community.  So, feel free to check back occasionally to see how members of the Park County Search and Rescue are giving back.  If you would like to learn more or schedule an event, contact Deputy Bill Brown at (307) 527-8718 or email him at Bill.Brown@parkcountysheriff-wy.gov.

Outlaw Trail Hike

"Members of the Park County Search & Rescue logged a few miles with some Livingston Elementary students on the Outlaw Trail system north of Cody. Four of our volunteers tagged along and gave short talks on subjects such as hypothermia, preparedness, and what Search and Rescue does for the community while the kids ate lunch. What a fun day!"

"Recently, the Primary Children's Auxiliary from the LDS Church 4th Ward visited the Search & Rescue Hall for some climbing exercises with SAR members. The climbing wall itself was constructed by SAR members using metal framing, plywood and climbing holds. The kids had a great time as did we. Thanks for coming!!!"
